    AKG 24 swap mount vibration?

OK so I finally got around to a much needed upgrade on my trans and motor mounts, going from E28 greens and e21 trans to AKG 24v polys and Vorshlag trans. Took the car out today and I cant believe how much more vibration it has, thought car was misfiring for a sec, totally changed the sound of the car inside too, from smooth to something I equate to a subaru. Took her for a rip and the feel is definetly there but I can honestly say I am not happy with the vibration. Any one else have this issue on the AKG mounts?

Please note I love AKG products and sell them, they are a great company with products that I can stand behind, this is my first dealing with these mounts firsthand though.

Isn't increased nvh just a fact of life with poly mounts? They're not gonna be as smooth as rubber, you're mounting a large vibrating mass on something with very little give, so of course it'll transfer more noise and vibration to the car.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Which transmission mounts? The transmission mounts will change the noise and vibration more then the engine mounts.

Edit: are they these and is it just a thru bolt they use?

Try switching back to e21 rubber mounts on the trans.

Which ones did you get? The 75D (red) ones are basically the same as "solid" (aluminum mounts)

Going to try the trans mounts tomorrow, I was expecting some increased NVH but damn son... The Vorshlag mounts are odd in meaning that its a aluminum cup-poly- aluminum cup. Sandwiched, will go back to E21's to see if it makes a difference.

What about the trans mounts? They make way more of a difference in NHV than engine mounts. And you should match engine and trans mounts to be of the same material and hardness.

The combo that worked for me was akg swap mounts and UUC trans mounts. I almost always use AKG but the straight through bolt design of the trans mounts was just too much for me.

Alright I hope that's it, going to go back to e21's with enforcer cups for now. Thanks and will update the thread.

I have CSS solid engine/trans mounts for my M20/G240. I had insane amounts of vibration until I deleted my engine driven clutch fan. Now it feels almost like stock again.

Point is, if anything in your driveline isn't correct, solid mounts will amplify the shit out of it. If everything is running smoothly, they really shouldn't be that much of a problem.
