M52 throttle body w/ 318is throttle cable

I've read of people retaining their 318i/is throttle cables with their swaps. Is this possible with a M/S52 throttle body or will I need the e34 m50 cable? The 318i cable seems like it will be too long.

Hey, i used my 318is cable on my m52, just take it out of the bracket that holds it to the inner fender. mine works great.

I replaced my b25 cable with a 318iS throttle cable. Much longer, more better.

My existing 1991 318i [M42] throttle cable fit perfectly.

with my s52 tb I couldnt get the e34 m50 cable to give enough slack.. went back to my old 318is cable and it works
