    Can i still use this piston head?

    well, here it is. preferably someone whos gone through this before, or has experience with stuff like this.

    im no pro and i see that there is piston/valve contact. clean the piston better so we can see the extent of damage, but i personally would just replace that piston

        If it helps any, I went through something similar on my brother's S52:


        Ended up replacing the piston. It looked much worse than yours.
        Since you already have the head off, it isn't too much more work to replace the piston. My brother's motor is still going strong (knock on wood) on a used piston we sourced from the boards (we reused the original piston rings from the damaged piston).

          replace the piston. I assume failed retainer? Happened same way on a customers S50. Ended up replacing 1 piston/rod (just to be safe on the rod).
