Calling on ETA guys! (connector identification, only 4 left!)

finally getting around to the part of my swap where im plugging everything in. these connectors are on the BODY side but i figured i would post it here since it is part of a swap, kinda. anyways im fairly certain most of these have to do with A/C but theres a few that i have no clue. keep in mind this is a 1985 early model ETA, as i know they changed a lot of the connectors in 87 and later.

Headlights, fan switch, ambient air temp, blinkers (side and front), fog lights, and coolant temp are all accounted for. i think i even have one for the dryer/pressure switch labeled.

Edit: top connector is for washer fluid level, 3rd one down is for washer fluid motor, bottom is coolant level sensor. middle one is still unknown, 1 pin black with white stripes.

these connectors are only reach about halfway across the core support in between the two high beams, in the fan/radiator area. all female connectors, one pin.

edit: the last three are all used for a/c high pressure/low pressure, and compressor power.

Sorry for the shitty phone pictures, but its all i have at the moment. if there's already a thread for eta connectors like this i apologize, i did search but had no luck. i used the ETK to figure out the connectors in the top and bottom pictures however have had no luck with the middle four. doesnt help that the wire colors dont always match up in the ETK and on the car.

Is one of the two pin connectors for the corner light (in the bumper)? Blinker? Coolant level sensor?

no those are taken care of and situated. appreciate the help though. starting to think if i plug everything i need in then they're all left over...

i did eliminate A/C , so if anyone else has an M50 swap with A/C deleted please take a picture of your left over plugs!

also removed w/f reservoir so there would be an extra two connectors there for the pump and float. if i could get confirmation on how many A/C connectors there are that could answer my question.

Cut the wire casings back and post up the colors. I'll check mine tomorrow morning and see if I can help you out.

dude seriously im never swapping an eta again... so much unnecessary work that the later models dont have to deal with.

If you took a zoomed out pic and showed where they come from that would help.

Why swap a engine with you can swap a head/harness

Does you radiator have four male connectors on the drivers side?

The two connectors with the rubber cover used to go to one of the radiator temp sensors or to the AC evaporator fan.

Best thing to do in a situation like this would be to find the electrical troubleshooting manual. Don't have the link but you can download it online and I've seen links on this forum somewhere.

How are you running your cooling setup? I have an '86 ETA and I'm wondering how I'm going to mount the radiator and expansion tank

no im actually running an M42 Radiator which has the coolant level sensor on the driver side due to the built in reservoir.

thanks man, ive been using the ETK for some things but its not the best.
right now i have an M42 radiator and an IE 14" puller fan. couldnt tell you how well it works right now haha. I used four of the spal rigid fan brackets to mount the IE fan so for $60 you have an E-fan setup that will switch on when necessary. IE fan was $40 shipped, fan switch is ~ $10, and the brackets were $2 a piece plus shipping.

when you say radiator temp sensor you dont mean the fan switch do you?

edit: ill try to get some wire colors tomorrow, forgive my laziness.

In the first picture the connector with the rubber boot covering it has a blue/purple wire and a brown wire. The female connector directly above that one in the picture has a purple/black wire and a brown/black wire. The single pin male connector above that one is black with white stripes. The last connector in that picture has been identified as coolant level sensor, two brown wires going into that.

In the second picture the female connectors in the rubber boot one of the connectors has two green/black wires going to it and the other connector has a single brown/black wire going to it. The other two female connectors have a solid black wire going to one and a green/black (maybe purple) wire going to it.

The male connector in the third picture is black/red. The other two female connectors should have a boot around them, but that’s long gone, idk if that will help anyone. There are three wires going to these two connectors, on one of them theres a lone solid black wire. The other connector has a black/white striped wire and a black/silver wire.

thanks for any and all help you guys are giving.
