    California BAR - different question

    I have a M50NV that plan to install a 96 328 Vanos unit (odb1) and S50 cams.

I have a receipt for the motor for documentation purposes for the BAR referee. My question is if I install the Vanos and subsequently a vanos maf (larger) and 413 DME. Would i be penalize or not pass the BAR since the engine receipt says is a 1993 325 6 cyl engine (it doses not say that is vanos or not but it has the vin #).

Does this makes a difference for BAR. Or should I just pass as a non vanos and then install the Vanos?

You can probably pass as a vanos motor. I wouldn't stress about it. If they don't ask for documentation, don't give it to them.

1993 is Vanos so your 91/92 non-vanos engine would not match up.

run the full M50 vanos setup and harness. bar wont even notice if you wish to bar.
