    Shifting Problem..

    M52B28 with a ZF transmission.
Sachs M3 Clutch and pressure plate.
    F1 Racing lightweight flywheel.
    New slave cylinder.

For a very long time now, the car has a hard time getting in to gear hot or cold. It is the initial clutch in and put in to gear. It is hard to put in to any gear. But once it goes in to gear. I can shift in to any gear fine. Daily I just go 2nd to 1st, but it is a problem I want fixed.

At a stop once I get it in gear, I can just shift all around through the gears. It's just the initial gear. Help me

Sounds to me like your pilot bearing isn't spinning freely like it should, which will cause your trans. input shaft to continually spin with the flywheel even though you've disengaged the clutch.

That's actually what I was told by a friend of mine as well. But I put a new one when I did the swap..

Are you sure that you installed it correctly?

Yes, I mean I had a large socket and taped in it. It was originally an automatic fyi. The only thing I could think of IF it was the pilot bearing. Is the pilot bearing was not the right size for the input shaft.

I was looking on UUC's website about doing half redline ATF and 140w-85 gear oil. I thought to try one last thing before I pull the transmission. I took out about 3/4 of a quart of my Royal Purple ATF Syncromesh and added the gear oil.. It works so far!!!! The hard initial shift is gone. I took it on a 20 minute freeway speed drive. No problems. I will report back after a long drive is done.

I did the same thing when I swapped my UUC clutch kit.

                Shifts really well.
