well if it helps, using the m50tu sensor which is plastic i ended removing the ridge form the sensor to allow it to sit flush to the head, used a 18x2 oring instead of the 17x3.
if you don't remove the ridge from the sensor it will have a 2-3mm gap between the head so the sensor will be far from the trigger wheelLeave a comment:

I installed a 1991 m50nv head into my 1997 m3. Kept all original s52 everything (cams, cam trays with clearance fof s52 counterweighted cams, s52 lifters, s52 vanos and s52 cam sensor)

for some reason i was unable to use the smaller lifters due to the larger valve diameter, they just won't fit there... i ended using all NV components with the s50cams.Leave a comment:
