I recently bought a m50 swapped e30 with ebay headers straight piped into a HUGE muffler (supposedly supersprint according to previous owner, however I'm not sure.) Anyway the car was far too quiet, and I thought it wasn't fair keeping that beautiful sounding engine all muffled up :) My previous m20b25 e30 I had straight piped and loved it! Not unbearably loud and sounded good!
Therefore in my naivety thought that the m50 would sound great straight piped too....oh my goodness. I literally don't think I have heard a louder car in my life. Horrendously loud and horribly raspy at low rpms.
Now I need to try and rectify my noobish mistake. Any advice on a decent sounding setup that won't cost me an arm and a leg? Car is a m50 vanos with ebay headers and currently straight piped all the way back. Not sure whether to add glass pack resonators, or a muffler, or a combination of all. Any advice is very much appreciated!
