s52 odb2 crank but having issues

i got a odb2 s52 in a 1970 bmw 2002 and i am having touble starting it..... r3v gurus please come forth with......

this is how i have the 2002 wired up

    x20 bmw > 2002 harness

alt 25 > blue wire that is in the voltage reg
ignition 21 > green wire inside the firewall or the green wire behind the ignition starter
    starter 15 > ground
starter 18 > pin 50 behind the ignition starter
fuel pump 13 > direct to fuel pump i am using a 318is from a e30 with pick up

i have some questions about the s52 starter it has 3 plugs right?

    like this

the big plug i have the big wire from the alt into the start and the main power wire.
the medium is the starter 18 wire on the x20 and that is connected to the pin 50 behind the ignition cylinder
the small plug is the starter 15 wire in the x20 and that is connected to the ground

my problem is that when i crank the car x20 wire 15 the small wire heats up very quickly and starts to burn the rubber very fast.... what am i doing wrong? i have all the grounds connected to the chassis and the battery. do i need another ground? and the starter just clicks, its a brand new starter aswell. i hot wired the starter and cranks the engine faster. something is wrong please help?
