Am I missing something? (e34 oil pan question)

Hey guys, out of curiosity I was looking over my e34 oil pan for my swap and I noticed this.. I have a feeling it doesn't just sit on there. Should I weld it to the pan? any suggestions? thanks

It just sit downs. There usually a revert that holds it down.

Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.
