Obd1 s52 runs like poo

Getting code 1224 for iat. Car is breaking up around 3k or wot. Running rich I think as new plugs clears it up until they foul. Has a rough idle too.

Brand new 02 sensor. Ideas?

I was planning on replacing the iat but heard they rarely go bad.

havent tried another yet but if I unplug it the car dies so im assuming its doing its job.

Ive poked around with starting fluid for a vac leak and havent heard anything.

I have a few things to do before I really try and diagnose it. Im still running the OEM M50 chip in the red label 413 which is probably an issue so im gonna order a chip. Then im gonna wire the tach and replace the IAT to see if the code goes away.

Was just posting to get some ideas from anyone that had similar issues.
