M50 NV oil housing question.. No access for vanos hose..

I have added a vanos unit to my non vanos engine however the non vanos housing does not have the acces to the vanos oil hose. Therefore do i need a Vanos housing with the corresponding holes or can i still use my Non Vanos housing? I read some where that there is a hole that is plugged were i can attached the vanos oil hose. But it was not clear?

Thank you guys! Found my answer in Bimmerforums

"I have an M52 in my 92 E34. I used the M52 block & head only from the OBDII setup. Then I got an M50 vanos harness and red label 413 DME, valve cover, oil pan, front cover, oil filter housing, knock sensor, crank sensor and cam position sensor. The only thing you have to splice is the temp sensors as one head has 2 sensors and the other has one. If you add S50 or S52 cams you can make 200 RWHP. That's what I made with the S50 cams."

It seems that I need the vanos oil housing. I already got the rest!

are you sure? It's hard to see in your picture, but my NV engines just have plugs where the VANOS oil line connects. You can take the plugs out and it's identical to the Vanos housing... It should be right next to the oil pressure sensor.

:edit: I think your oil filter housing IS different than mine. Go figure. I have two NV motors and had a VANOS motor - all of them use(d) the same oil filter housing.

My findings were that there are two NV oil housing and one was sumilar to Vanos and the other one does not had the same set up. Therefore it seems that mine was the one eith out the Vanos setup plugged. I got one already from my junkyard for $13 so i'm good now

You can clearly see the plug in the picture... I just took mine out to run my oil feed line for my turbo!
But, you got it cheap so no harm.

If it is the last plug on the bottom to the right, the Vanos oil hose does not fit it is short by 1/2 inch
