s52 & getrag m3 6 speed , what disc to use ?

I've done lots of searching ! Question, I have a 88' 325Is w/ s52 (z4 3:25 ) and Now have a 2002 m3 getrag 6 speed to replace my 95' zf 5 speed . I have and love my factory lite single mass F/Wheel (13lb) and m5 240mm clutch setup. I know I can't use my m5 disc, but can I buy off the shelf disc or need custom disc ?, M3 disc center and 240mm sprung outter to make up a new disc ? What's the knowlage on this ? BTW all this is going into a 88' m3 I have next year. Thanks, Joe

Getrag S6S420G has the big 10 spline input shaft, same as the M5 and V8's. The clutch disc is 240mm as well.

If you have an 'M5' clutch currently on a ZF, you have a small 10 spline disc and not the big spline disc. In other words, the disc you have is not M.

In short, the M3 disc with an M5 or M3 PP will work.

getrag m3 6 speed and what chutch disc?

My gearbox is an 02' m3 so it's the bigger 10 splined disc size . Does anyone make a off the shelf 240mm, sprong, clutch disc for the bigger 10 splined getrag /m3 imput shaft ? Or am I needing a custom disc made with spring ? Anyone got an answer to this ?? Thanks , Joe

Heaps of companies make that disc. SPEC, Clutchmasters, ACT, UUC, Southbend, and numerous ebay sellers as well - XTR, F1, and so on. You don't need anything other than a stock organic disc, so don't be tempted by anything exotic. Unless you plan to go turbo of course.

Well I quess it is just that simple to get just a custom disc. I say this because No one has said no way,no how that can be done. I was hopping to hear from other getbag 6 sp installers about the shortest path to get this installed but I'm quessing this is not thread worthy. I will post info after I find who can do the custom disc . Thanks , Joe

Do a search for "Sprung hub clutch m3 e46"
This is the one from UUC. Maybe call them and see if they will sell you the disk only?

I have the same car as you, planning to install an s52 and already have the same 6-speed! I found and bought a used UUC ltw flywheel/clutch/PP combo from someone on e46fanatics.
