Put about a 6-8 inch tube between the maf and filter and your engine will run better.
Looks nice and clean though.Comment

With the filter on the maf like that its not allowing the maf to read correct there for making the engine run different.
I believe it was "CMT" that had a thread on it when he did a dyno on his engine. Also Jordan "Stuck" ran into this problem when he had his filter right on his maf with his supercharger setup.Comment

Sorry I just saw this post - no, I don't need them all but since I powder coated the valve cover with a nice thick coating, and its an insulator, I like to ground the coils best. The factory uses the ground strap and two bridges to help ground the stock valve cover, but its mostly metal on the top side and where the bridges bolt/coils bolt. With mine coated and sitting on rubber grommets and rubber valve cover gasket, the ground plane up there can be weak. I've learned from high horsepower builds that so long as you don't create ground loops, the better the ground, the better.

Whoops, missed these posts from november

These are HIOP Headers, I bought them used. I'm not 100% sure on the history, but I believe they were around before the turner shorties (if anyone knows more about the HIOP headers, I'd love to know more about my headers).
Cabin, the res. is mounted with a corner bracket to the fuse box. If you are still interested, PM me your email address and I'd be happy to email you a few more close-ups of it.Last edited by bubbajan21; 01-03-2012, 06:46 PM.Comment

I don't really agree with you here, but I definitely could be wrong. With the filter on the maf like that its not allowing the maf to read correct there for making the engine run different.
I believe it was "CMT" that had a thread on it when he did a dyno on his engine. Also Jordan "Stuck" ran into this problem when he had his filter right on his maf with his supercharger setup.
I run a cone filter right off a bimmerworld elbow on my E36 M3 and it runs perfectly.
The issue with a supercharger setup had to do with the maf sensor being too close to the actual supercharger unit which the sensor did not like. I don't think it had anything to do with the filter<maf distance.Comment

You dont have to believe me. I just share what I seen/read from dyno charts and tuning. After a little searching. This was on C-Ts car.Comment

My 2002 tii booster is mounted to the firewall and it fits fine. I'll post up some pics when I take them.
Do you know anything about HIOP? I'd love to know.Comment
