    fuel pump question

so Im tracking down a no start/ engine dies while driving issue....very sporadic

Im looking to test the crank sensor , cam sensor, fuel pump, relays etc...

    but let me ask first...

Should I hear my fuel pump prime upon "every" start up?..or only when it hasnt been started for a while?...like a few hrs or more.

There are times I hear it prime.....and other times when she starts fine, I cannot hear it.

    Its a new pump.

    tia

PS......seems like crank sensors are common culprit on the s50/52 engines.....

strange how this all started after a HG/v.job.
I love sitting down and just driving!

never go by priming noise to diag a fuel pump. I have had cars where you can somewhat hear something, but most of the time no. My e36 i can hear it though.

Just test for 12v at the harness koeo
