    M50 Swap

My super eta is receiving a heart transplant, she is a 1988 BMW 325 with 101,000 miles on the clock. She has been in a coma since exhaust rocker arm on cylinder 3 went down about 2 months ago. Will also be 5 speed swapped at this time.

M50B25TU from E34 with 133,000 miles according to CARFAX.

Getrag G260 with 77,000 according to PO. Not pictured: manual driveshaft.

NO PHOTO: got an M20 flywheel shaved off back end, with pressure plate and clutch from sofa KING euro who made the transaction easy and pleasant. Maybe i'll add a picture

REVIEW: solid construction, legit welds, and transmission mounts have a very durable feel. Good work guys!

3.5" MAF I picked up for 50 bucks from craigs.

This was yesterday, engine and slushbox came out relatively easy. Like 10 minutes with my brother, I was very careful cause I didn't want to f$%@ up my nice paint. I have since removed engine harness and pinned the M50's engine harness into the c101 connector.

Today the E28 535i green mounts will be coming into the parts department today. I already have E36 engine arms, and the UUC DSSR w/ 10° twist and Stainless steel clutch line is coming from UPS today.

If anyone is interested, I have a super eta block with pistons and crankshaft and oil pan and all that stuff. Make an offer, local only though.

I will add more things as I get photos of them, i'll try to snap more pictures for this thread. Hope you guys enjoy, and any tips and tricks are well appreciated!

Oops, I've ordered so many parts, from so many places I barely know the origin on any of them. Haha I fixed it tho!

Got the DSSR yesterday after it taking nearly two weeks to ship despite saying it was in stock.

Guess what, it doesn't have the 10° twist! Thanks UUC for making me wait, then getting me hyped for when it came in, and STILL getting it wrong.

Do you guys think I could take it to a machine shop and have then put a 10° twist in it? I'm not that confident in my metalworking skills.

thats ok... when I got mine it had the 10* twist... the wrong way... so it was actually 20* off. talked to rob at UCC and sent photos. was like oops can you wait ? no I can't wait. Worst part was I had this sitting ready to go for about 3 weeks and never looked at it.

I had a friend/machinist retwist to correct. no heat was used. clamp one end to table/or vice. use large wrench /crescent w/cheater across flats of slot on other end and twist Use a protractor to verify angle there was some spring back but not much. Check the shaft for straightness and tweak as required. the material is not that tough.
AKG does not make a twisted DSSR

I think i'm gonna stick with it, maybe try that out. I should get things running by next weekend. Maybe not driving, but engine and transmission in and engine a blazing.
