just looking for an honest opinion

Now I know it's not an e30. That being said I've got a 1995 325i with 220K on the clock. This car has developed a loss of ignition and or fuel to the engine rather frequently. I have however changed the fuel pump with a known good one and a new fuel filter. Also new known good red label 413 Ecu.
No change. Injectors are clean and working well. New bkr6equp NGK spark plugs... The list goes on. Issue remains. Scenario consists of popping, sputtering or just a total loss of ignition at WOT. Buuut if I turn the ignition of and on again while coasting it runs line, for id say 2 miles. Could it be something as simple as an ignition switch? Curious to see if someone else has experienced these symptoms.

Sounds like a crank sensor to me.

I've gathered that it is ignition related only. When held at a constant 2500 rpm the ignition begins to break down. Never cuts off. Always catches itself and idles smooth. When you stomp the gas there isn't an issue. Ignition breaks down otherwise.

This engine is coming out and being sold. Keeping in the car at the moment to diagnose the running issue. M60 with a getrag 420 behind it will replace this current powerplant.

With OBD1 you have to go through EVERYTHING its a pain in the ass really. (OBD2 FTW)

I would start with swapping MAF's and check/ test you TPS' knock sensors, and cam sensor.
