I know this is a beat up subject on here. but I was wondering how difficult it is to do one. I am pretty mechanicaly inclined and have done some decent amount of motor work and stuff like that just never on a bmw. I have a 87 with the m50 already in it, and was wondering how difficult it would be to swap it over to a stock 90 325i. or what the cost is normally. so basically im just ripping the m50 out of my 87 and stuffing it in a 90. also do they make harnesses that go straight from m50 to the 325i chassis? or if anyone is in VA beach and knows someone that does swaps that would be awesome also

So your car is already M50 swapped And you want to take it out and put a m20 out of a 90 325i? Not sure why you would want to but yeah depending on what wiring changes were made to fit the m50 in your initially returning to a stock motor shouldn't be difficult at allI know this is a beat up subject on here. but I was wondering how difficult it is to do one. no, he wants to put the m50 into the 1990.
the biggest differences will be in the c101 harness wiring check the ETM's on wedophones.com. the 1990 will already have the late model cooling system which will work great. does the 1987 still have the getrag or did the PO swap in a ZF as well?Comment
