    Noisy S52

    Hey Guys, Ive noticed that the s52 I swapped in is noisy. My question is where to start and how to diagnose it.. Below is a link to a video with sound..



    UPDATE: Check to make sure your spark plugs are tight.. lol car purrs now

        some noises are easy to diagnose, like tensioners, vanos rattle... that sounds like a knock. although it could be a stuck hydraulic valve, but i wouldnt know how that sounds. have you probed around to try and see where the noise is coming from?

          Yea the noise is coming from the back half of the engine, doenst have the vanos rattle.. Are there any methods I should take to know for certain what could be wrong?

            i disconnected each ignition wire separately and sound didn't change. probably gonna pull the valve cover and see whats up..

              ^That test Typically rules out rod knock
              Ive seen a collapsed lifter cause some crazy noises.
