    Another E34 harness question thread

I've searched the hell out of it to no avail, there is a red eyelet that is coming out near the relays and ecu plug on my E34 harness and I'm not sure of it's function. Looking at my other E34 harness that's on e ground (and fried) it seems to make a bunch of connections and those connection and up to the diagnostic connector. As I've said I've fried my old harness and am not in the market to make another mistake frying this one.

    Thanks,
    Dan

Also, when hooking up my harness to the engine and various sensors, it all seems correct but me being as paranoid as I am about messing up this new harness, what are the consequences of having switch a plug with another one sensor wise. I've done continuity checks on the ones I could but I just have this feeling I've made a mistake somewhere.

I think that red wire is +, if you have autodata, you can know exactly what that wire is.

I've been reading the ETM/s and I've traced the wire myself it seems to come from multiple wires that end up at the data link or diagnostic connector. I'm getting no crank, and I think it's because the diagnostic connector is not getting any power and on the ETM it shows that before power gets to the starter it branches off into the diagnostic connector before reaching the X20 connector. My M50 is from an automatic E34, and there are two ETM's that show with automatic transmission and with a manual transmission, the manual transmission using a dummy relay (jumper plug) whilst the automatic uses a starter relay. So it could also be that i'm not getting any power to the starter motor because I have a automatic transmission relay that thinks my auto trans gear lever is not ready to turn the car over giving me no power at all. Anybody got any ideas? If you're engine came from an automatic E34 with M50, did you need to use a different relay or jumper plug at X55 of the ETM.

        Thanks

regardless of if engine harness is auto or manual; as long as the starter circuit is hooked up the starter will crank....... (engine may or may not start)

on the race e30 we only needed a few wires connected to the body harness from engine harness to fire up the DOHC engine.

in a e34 manual transmisison swap the PRNDL stuff is wired to be constantly in N; thats seems part of the chassis e34 harness not anything to do with e30.
the e34 manual cars have a dummy relay for starter from the BMW factory; its a yellow dummy relay item that has only 2 prongs instead of the standard 5 pin/4 pin relay. An e30 wont have this as the e30 fuse box underhood is different
            OBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25

Z4 non powered steering rack fits e30
