    M50/G260 Clunking sound!!

    Hey all,

I have a 1989 325i with a m50tub25 swap and it seems to be making a clunking sound at idle. I did not complete this swap myself but have read alot to get caught up on what the swap actually consists of. So the clunking sound seems to be coming from the front side of the vehicle right where the flex disc meets the trans. The trans is a G260. I was told by the PO that he shaved the flywheel down for the swap. Since the car is not in motion and the clunking sound remains even at full stop with clutch peddle in or not. Would there be something that could be possibly causing this noise? I was thinking TO bearing is also shot since i can hear it whine lightly when i take my foot off the clutch. Plus im sure some of the clunking could be attributed by the worn belt tensioners. I do plan on fixing them first but since the sound really seems to be coming from the trans area im starting to think there could be a issue there. Thanks for any feedback on this issue.
