    CEL not working

Hey guys, I've been driving my s52 obd2 swap for a bit and I've noticed the CEL does not work. I had the harness wired for me and a trm flash, what am I missing for my cel to get it working again? I know it worked prior to swap and I've hooked up a obd2 diagnostics and I have errors that should trigger the cel

    Thanks

This one might be a little too obvious but did you check the bulb?

Did you get the harness from Markert Motorworks?

Had a similar issue with an OBD2 harness I got for netchsk's S52 swap.

There should be 2 wires. One of those is supposed to be getting switched 12v+ and the other goes to pin #20 on your X6000 ECU connector.

The check engine light is set off by the ECU by switching ground on and off to the bulb. You can check to be sure that pin 20 is working by using a continuity tester and switching the ignition into the run position. The light in the continuity tester should turn on and off with the ignition as the ECU gets power (the initial test CEL before you start the car).

Test the other wire going to the bulb with a circuit tester and be sure you are getting 12v+ from when you switch the ignition on. If its not then you will need to splice that into another switched 12v+ source. Where you get the 12v+ is not really that important as long as its switched on by the ignition.

Thanks for the help man, gonna go ahead and try that! Where would you get the 12v from?

Robert he has a 91, the 12v signal for the cel is routed through the body harness. I don't add it like I have to do on early cars.

Just glanced at the diagrams on my phone, check fuse 10, that's where the +12 signal comes from

Gotcha, I figured it would be a 12v signal rather than the ECU signal.
