Thought Id let the board give me some insight here:
s50 swapped 90 e30....@ 100k miles.....this never happened till coincidentally we did a HG/valve job.
New fuel pump
new main relay
new fuel pump relay
on my second crank sensor in 3 weeks.
After head work was done, she drove 30 miles and just died on the road at 40 mph.
would not restart.......then 24 hrs later she started.
Instlld new cps......she ran fine ....2 weeks later....she died while coasting to a red light.....would not start for 5 hrs...then restarted.
Another crank sensor.......she ran fine..then she stalled at 50 mph....coasted to a stop.....then she started right back up...running fine now.
Sumthin is up......
When she first did this.. we checked and she had no spark or fuel...we felt sure it was the cps.....at that point.
So now w/ the second new cps she is running fine...but she did stall once at 50 mph.....for no reason...then then restarted fine.
Im not sure it has anything to do w/ the head/valve job..but it all started after we completed that work.
very frustrating.
(If it was a cam sensor, she would run but poorly, as far as I know......I do believe the cam sensor to be original.)
Im now thinking DME?.....
How can I go about a proper diagnosis?...rather than throwing parts at her?
