I'm doing a front end suspension overhaul, and at the point of tackling the inner ball joints to remove the control arms. It looks like it will be tricky and could be a real pain so I want to get educated beforehand.
I searched around and some go with extensions from above, others from below with a wrench or two for leverage, I've even heard of lifting the engine or dropping the subframe a bit for access. Extensions above will likely be my best option, I'm not very well equipped in terms of various wrench shapes and types, and if I need to go that route I'll have to go and buy a single, standard 22mm wrench (or try borrowing).
But most if not all anecdotes are from those with M20s, or unspecified. I'm curious if anyone can share their experience post-swap. I'm going to a cabrio anti-roll bar so the bar will be out of the way at least.
