    Seriously need help, over heating!

Okay, so my car is running fine and all the sudden she just starts getting super hot and over heats.. First thing I checked was the tank cap and it was nice and tight.. Next I replaced the T-stat ( is the thermo generic for all m50? I don't know the year of mine..) and it still over heated! What I noticed was that when I replaced the t-stat the hoses were filled with coolant.. I filled the tank up with water after the first time of over heating, wouldn't that have washed away the coolant by then? And would that mean I have a bad water pump? This is important, it's my daily driver and my only way to get to school..

If it isn't circulating coolant, it sounds like a bad water pump.

Burp the system. Is your fan coming on? There's a lot of things to think about before you go to the water pump or possibly headgasket.
