    m52tu28 Camshaft options

I'm getting ready to come across a great deal on engine Hopefully it will be free or the max being an added $100. (motor has bad head gasket, and ive given him an auto tranny, drive shaft, and $100 worth of break fluid

originally i planned on getting an s52 but this popped and theirs only a 50 hp difference, im not really going to go on about stroking the horses face with adding performance.

i looking for Camshaft options for the m52tu28.

i wanted to do the Schrick cams originally and stage 3+ tuner package.
    Schrick performance camshafts (264/256 degree

but i could be content with the stock s52 cams.

    i need to out run a 2000 is 325i

ive even heard that m54 cams will work but i dont know the performance gains that are possible with these cams and if they really do fit.

ZHP cams, but really the best thing to do would be to just get an M54b30 to start with as you would give you more power gain then cams.

Why should I go with the m54 cams?

You shouldn't, unless you're talking about the ZHP cams mentioned, as M52TU and M54 use the same cams, on this side of the Atlantic at least.

you will get more performance by switching your intake manifold to the one from the M54, than from a cam. That intake manifold doesnt flow as well as the M54 does.

Its a similar thing as with the M50vsM52 manifold from the old iron blocks.

Once you have that, and a nice exhaust manifold aswell, yeah maybe you can start talking cams (and valvesprings if you intend to go over 7000rpm).

M54b30 intake cam is hotter, just go with this. Or ZHP cams(hard to find now), Don't go schrick on 2.8L they are too aggressive
