How to add a catch can setup to OBD1 motor?

    im new to swaps, so im not dead set on anything yet really i just want something that is going to work properly. i dont have any of the stock ccv setup since i got the car already swapped with just a breather filter over the valve cover hole. i dont really want it like that. so i want to figure out how i can run something correctly.

      You can route a few ways. add http://www.trmtuning.com/?product=trm-catch-can
      and then go to the intake elbow http://www.trmtuning.com/?product=m5x-intake-elbow
      with the two hole version.
      or use the one hole version of the intake elbow and go to the exhaust with
      Excellent way to pull vacuum on the crankcase without contaminating the intake pipes with oil. Ties into the exhaust. Kit includes the weld-in nipple, threaded check valve, and hose clamp.

            On the OBD1 crankcase vent, you have the large hose which goes from the valve cover to the throttle body boot. You then have a small hose which goes from the valve cover to the turkey neck.
            If you install a catch can inline, you can add it to the large hose and leave the rest intact. The majority of the flow goes that way. If you chose to have that go to a catch can and then to somewhere other than the throttle body boot (vent to atmosphere, or into the exhaust) you need to cap both ends of that small hose as to not have it as a vacuum leak.

              i think im going to try the way they have it in the link except from the catch can im going to pull vacuum from the exhaust and use that TRM catch can and check valve. instead of going back to the intake elbow, ill see how that works. the holes on my intake elbow are already capped off since it is just vented to atmosphere right now. i think there are a few other threads that already go over this but i cant find them.

                Bringing back an old thread...

                I'm running an OBD1 S52 with OBD1 CCV. I have oil pooling in my intake manifold, but not in the intake elbow. This means that the oil goes directly from the valve cover to the intake manifold by the small line. I checked all the component and the connector:

                --> The Small lines that goes from the intake manifold (dowstream of TB) to the valve cover is really restricted with orifices (no check valves or anything).

                --> The large lines that goes from the intake elbow boot (upstream of TB) to the valve cover is nearly unrestrited (relative to the flow).

                To my understanding, there is not much vacuum in the elbow between the MAF and the TB (Running a 3.5 MAF lower vacuum)... Therefore, I don't see how a significant vacuum can be developped in the crank case when there is a large unrestricted line that goes directly after the maf. To me it is more like a vacuum leak that goes from the intake boot, to the valve cover and that ends up in the intake manifold...

                I'M really starting to look at removing all this and adding a catch can and pully vacuum from the exhaust...
