    Timing Cover Coolant Leak?

So I have been working on an m50 turbo build, and today I dumped coolant into it and a bunch ended up on the floor, it was leaking off of the oil pan. I was looking around and I found coolant flowing from the front timing cover right near the alignment pin (#3) I would think that would mean there was an issue in the gasket (#6) would you agree?
The odd part is that the motor came out of a running car, that didn't leak coolant. When I needed to replace the waterpump I had to use a slidehammer to break the old o-ring loose, do you think that doing that would have caused the seal to break? I never took off the front timing cover, and I am really hoping that the head does not have to come off to remove the cover.

It is possible it broke the seal, if it was good before....
Why didn't you just use the bolts to push the pump out?

Alright, looks like the cover is coming off. Getting the jesus bolt off shouldn't be too hard from what I am reading.
Has anyone taken this off while keeping the head and oilpan bolted on?

Ive removed the cover without taking the head off, theres three torx bolts under the valve cover that are tricky but doable, with the oil pan still in place you might have difficulty maneuvering it in and out of place. But i would go for it because of the simplicilty over taking the pan off or motor out.

Is your timming cover from a obd 1 or 2 car? Are you using the obd 2 hard coolant pipe or rubber obd 1 hose.

I now get the bolt trick, use the two threaded holes that are not used to mount it and push the pump out correct? I was not aware of that at the time!
Did you have to take the top timing chain and cam gears out? I got the 2 towards the intake out without taking anything off, but it doesn't seem like the one directly under the exhaust cam gear will sneak out ( just speculation though).
If the oil pan presents a problem I will just loosen all of the bolts to lower it a touch and slide the cover out.
Now that it is apart in front of me it seems a lot simpler than I had originally thought.
M50NV so it is all OBD1, and using the rubber hose, that was my first suspicion for the leak, but it is sealed tight.
