    Just finished build...m52 obd2 swap - s52 cams, m50 manifold, headers

    Just finished the swap on Friday night. Had the exhaust put on this weekend and she sounds great! I've been super hyped about getting this swap done and finally getting her down the road. But of course every swap has its small bugs to fix. Here is what I got so far:

    First crank - it will fire every time and idle to 1k then turn off immediately. In order to drive the car I have to rev and it put it in first gear. After about 30 sec to a minute driving its fine and will idle at a stop light. If I run hard then put it in neutral because I'm coming to a stop light it will stall. Maybe ICV?

    I'm running a single mass m20 flywheel. I've got a lot of chatter. Is this normal??

    It's running on a stock ecu...I kinda thought the car would be quicker. It doesn't help my other car is a e39 m5 with some tasty mods. It's running with a g240 to a 3.73 LSD. I didn't realize my gearing would be so high?? 2nd gear barely hits 50mph.

    How long does it take my dme to realize its got all my mods? I've put about 20 to 30 miles on the swap so far.

    I guess I need to just get it on a dyno to get real numbers.

    The idling sounds like an ICV. Granted, I'm not running a 24v swap yet, but I had the EXACT issue with stalling and cold idling on my m42, and went away with a new (to me) ICV. It would die out on the highway coming to off ramps, as well as red lights.

    I'm going to be running a VERY similar set up. :up:

      Sounds like a fuel/air delivery issue. Check that all hoses are clamped on tight and the intake to throttle body and throttle to afm are all secure and not leaking. You can spray some carb fluid around those areas to see if there are any leaks

        I knew the car wasnt driving right...Sadly enough I thought my tach was messed up and was hitting the redline at 5300k.. Turns out ive been in limp mode :( Ive been changing gears at 5k thinking thats my redline HA. Hooking up diagnostics tonight and scanning for codes. Im sure I have tons since im not running post o2s nor SAP..

        Hooking up diagnostics on this car should be simple right? I haven seen many write ups on it. My car is obd2. Shouldnt it be like one wire?

        NOTE: I was able to go through 1 and 2nd 3rd with a 7k redline one time and wow this car is fast as hell.
