No. The bell housing has the wrong bolt pattern. You'd have to cut it off and weld a 6spd housing on. Possible, but not very practical.
The bellhouse actually unbolts and interchanges between the v8/I6 getrag 6mt units.
The output flange for e39 6mt v8 (105mm) is not compatible with any I6 driveshafts (96mm) though; so the exit flange will need to be changed along with the bellhouse;
basically unless you have a e46 m3 getrag 6mt for parts to donate to the 540i v8 trans you wont be able to use it with a 6 cylinder.

any 2000-2006 e46 M3 transmission bolts to a M50/m52/s50/s52/s54 engine.
any e60 530i ZF 6 speed or E46 330/325 late model ZF 6 speed will directly bolt to a M50/m52/s50/s52/s54 engine.

If it's cheap, buy it anyway and sell it to an m60 swap guy. Those transmissions aren't exactly easy to find and you could make a bit of money and help another e30 engine swap guy out.

I've spent the last year racing; working on weird conversions is on the back burner.
Will be 10x racing/practice weekends by the end of year.
I don't really suggest converting a v8 6mt getrag to i6 standard bell house and tail output it as it's a pita to align the item and come up with the parts. You will need a complete i6 getrag from e46 m3 for parts donation; kind of ridiculous to purchase another 6mt for a bell house and tail output flange.
Easier to sell the v8 6mt and get a i6 6mt.
So common nowadays as any 128/328i has them all equipped
