    Chain Tensioner dummy tool

Hey, I am re installing everything after I removed the cam on my s52, and I read somewhere to install the dummy tensioner tool while installing sprockets/chain. I also read that by removing the spring inside your own primary tensioner and replacing with pennies can work as the dummy tool but the s52 tensioner is one piece and lacks the spring to remove. Is there anyway I can get around this, because I don't have the time to borrow or buy an actual bmw tool for the job. Thanks!
