    Another post-swap brake issue

I've been searching for the last few hours and reading old threads, not many speak to exactly what I'm experiencing. I hate starting new threads, but I'm at a loss.

Need opinions on why my 944 booster and stock ATE mc is so overboosted. With the car running there is ZERO resistance and ZERO pedal feel however the brakes do engage as you would expect but there is no pressure feedback. Also when at a stop light, the brakes go to the floor with little pedal pressure but the brakes engage a few inches back from that and stop well. I had an issue with the brakes locking up but adjusting the clevis out solved that (so far) but what could be causing the overboosted pedal feel?

    Thanks guys.

Took apart the MC, made sure the rod in the booster was seated correctly, re-bled the brakes... still shitty. What would cause the pedal travel to have seriously NO resistance or pedal feel? It's opposite of what most people complain about (hard pedal). They also locked up again on me, the clevis is adjusted as far in as I can without the brake lights staying on.

Clarification, I didn't disassemble the master cylinder, I just took it out and inspected the booster rod. I would think that if the mc were bad I wouldn't be able to lock up the brakes, the stopping power is fine but it's super sensitive with no pedal feedback. I'm no brake expert though, so I'm open to further explanation.

How much throw is in the pedal? Stock calipers i'm assuming? Unless you have a bad seal in the MC it sounds like there's air in the system somewhere.

The throw is short, it stops about half way to the floor. Stock calipers. I've bled the system twice using the Bentley procedure. If there were air in the system wouldn't it cause decreased braking instead of a super sensitive almost on/off sensation?

When your driving and you pulse the brakes do they start to engage higher and higher?

Good question, no they don't. The best way to describe the pedal feel is when you have massive air in the lines however in all that "dead play" you would have on the way to floor the brakes still grab really hard a few inches from the top. Almost feels like driving a new ford focus or something with a seriously overboosted brake system for mass consumption by wimpy men and old ladies.

                    Hahaha. Nice.
Only other thing I can think of is,
When the brakes do lock, are you sure that all 4 wheels are locking? Could be air in one caliper so 3 wheels are locking when the should, but then pedal goes down further to compress the air in the last caliper.

Figured it out. Removed the MC and got the rod in the 944 booster to seat properly, now it's perfect.
