e30 m50 swap. having issues plz help

hello guys. happy holidays. I need u guys help figuring out an issue. I have an 87 325is. my buddy just helped me do a m50 swap. everything was good for a day then 1 morning I get up warm up my car like usual(3-5 min) take off going to work. after about a 10 min drive, im taking off a red light and step on t7he gas and im getting a hesitation. I have the gas floored and the car doesnt respond. it doesn't turn off but its like if I had no power what so ever. then on the next light I tried taking off and it hesitates and shakes. I have 2 kinda play with the throttle so it can take off. it does it on all the gears but mainly on 1st thru 3rd. then if I turn off the car and let it sit for 10-20min it normal again and after 10-15 off running it starts with the same thing..

I replaced cap and rotor, fuel filter, plugs, checked for vacuum leaks, checked the ohms on my coil(its good), new 4 gauge ground, its has new exhaust( no cat,2-1/2 inch pipe),

if u guys have any suggestion plz shoot. thanks

I'm confused about how you have a cap and rotor with an m50 swap?

you need to do some checking:
Fuel pressure (pump)/ fuel pressure regulator
      TPS voltage min/max
      MAF voltage
      All grounds and connections
      intake manifold to head

OBD1 is nice but sensors need checking individually.. we need more info: repined or spliced harness?
      report back

Ok ima check all that tonight. We spliced the harness but only for the fuel pump. And for the MAF sensor convertion. Because my car is an 87(13 pin and 17 pin harness of a 88) today in the morning after 5 min it started acting up. I think is getting worse

just to clarify when I say "voltage" is not only 12v/ground but the signal input/output..

My car did the samething you described, it would also shut off at times. Car would blog, hesitate and felt like was clogged, giving it full throttle wouldn't go anywhere. It was a bad MAF, the voltage was good but MAF itself was bad. Hope this helps

Judging by this post and the fact you said you changed the cap and rotor you don't have an m50...

Maybe he has an m30? Or perhaps his friend took 2000 bucks from him, "swapped him an m50" but its still an m20 :giggle:
