High mile M52 Rebuild kit help!

I have a M52 with a 198000 miles on it, where can I find a rebuild kit or all the components? Thank you,

do you know if the previous owners ever had to replace the head or anything major? cause otherwise it might cost a pretty penny. do you know the compression numbers on the engine? are you planning on doing the work yourself or a machine shop?

No, the car has been in my family since new, however at 19800, we feel,it's time for,a refresh. We've never had any problems with the motor no vanos failures or anything. I'm not looking to bore, stroke, or,anything fancy. Just a budget rebuild, the compression should...be fine, the car was driven today.
      Ideas?

If there is no ridge on the top of the cylinder bores and stock engine bearings look ok, then all you do is slap on new piston rings, engine bearings, chain, guides, seals and gaskets. That's it. You would need new plastic valve cover for sure, they are warp by now.

would this apply to the s52 as well? i just picked one up with 184,000 and i want to give it some TLC before i put it in my e30. no codes pulled from a rolled m3 automatic… but i figure might as well do it once, do it right?

Pull head drop off at engine shop to have built. Many in the bay area equipped for this.

Leak down each cylinder and see what the status of rings are. If leakdown is good then just install head and go

If leakdown is not in acceptable range tear it apart and change rings and or pistons. Bring to professional engine shop for measuring and cleaing and work.
