    NVM50 into 1989 E30 320i - Exhaust Question

I just purchased a 320i last week, not happy with engine/drive train so I've been researching for the last week and come up with my desired combination.

    NVM50 with a ZF320 behind it.

Now my question that I can't seem to find an answer for, is there a combination of stock exhaust parts which mate together to connect the NVM50 manifolds to the E30 exhaust? I'll be doing this over a long weekend in my home town so wont be able to take it into an exhaust shop at short notice.

Also I'm throwing it up on the hoist at work to check out what diff/box it has in it as it's a manual conversion by the Po. Where are the codes located on both box and diff?

    Cheers guys,
I did do a search but couldn't seem to find the relevant information.

Actually on second thought, is somebody also able to help me out with my parts list, since I want to crack it out in a weekend with little to no hold ups.

    Engine swap list:
    -NVM50B25, loom, ecu
    -E36 Engine Mounting Arms
    -E28 535i Engine Mounts
    -ZF320 Gearbox
    -M50B25 Flywheel & Clutch Kit
-96mm drivehshaft of some kind (??)
    -Diff to suit (??)
-Electric Cooling Fan (to sit in condensors place, since I'm removing AC)

Again, I'm not sure what I need in terms of driveshaft/diff as it's been a manual conversion and I haven't established what box is currently in the car. I'll know tomorrow morning though. 5th and reverse are hard up against the center console if that's any help.

Loom splicing will be fine, I work as an auto electrician so I'll draw up my diagram and splice after engine install.

    Will also:

pre-move the brake booster to avoid hitting the intake before I set off for my home town (will be towing the new engine/box etc...on a trailer).
lock tight the hell out of the oil pump nut & replace sump gasket while I'm at it
rear main seal when engine is apart from gearbox
front and rear seals on gearbox

any other pre-jobs I should do to make stuff easier in the long run?

The driveshaft I believe you need is from a manual E36 325. If you're getting your engine from an E36, see if you can get the driveshaft. You will also need an E34 oil pan and oil pickup. As far as the exhaust, I'm nearly in the same position finishing up my M50NV swap and so far nothing seems to line up correctly so mine will have to be welded up. I can't speak for a 320 though but I assume it would be similar. Mine has taken me a while but it's been a learning experience and I did a lot of things backwards.. but realistically it's a very very simple swap.

The engine will be coming from an E34 with front sump so I won't need to change any of that. I'm not even going to bother with vanos/obdII as New Zealand doesn't have as many surplus spares as some of these other countries!

My wheel hubs/bearings alone were 230 retail each side! I got them at trade and disc'd to $100 per side, but still! I read on here they're much cheaper in the states!

My best friend works in an exhaust shop, so I just need to know whether I NEED to book it in for work the day before I come home or not. The alternate option I see is following something similar to what this guy has done. I've found the headers on ebay and they come to just over $200 shipped to NZ. I could get them adapted to stock exhaust and then worry about coating them later once everything is going.

Q, How far out is the exhaust from the headers? Are you able to post a picture? Would help with estimating prices / letting my mate preplan to make it fit in a day.

For 24v swap we trailered the car to exhaust shop with nothing but headers bolted to engine. 3 hours and $350 or so later it was done.
