    m52tub25 9 MPG!!!

what is happening? i have a m52tub25 from a euro e46 323i on my e30 and get 9mpg, the maf was acting funny so i got one from a m52tub28 almost same comsumption. i used inpa on the engine and found out that the exhaust camshaft sensor is dead. could that influence the consumption so much? also the engine is rough on 2 pistons should see if its the spark plugs or leads

Use the proper MAF for the vehicle. Replace both inlet and exhuast cam sensors, these are common failures and will make it run rough and have bad mileage. Due a tune-up with plugs and coil boots, may need a few coils if they are causing misfires. Be sure the fuel pressure is correct for the engine/injector combo you are running.

but if the maf pn is the same for 323 and 328 it should work fine. was wondering if the exhaust cam sensor can cause all this

Its certainly not helping your mpg but may not be the only issue. Why not change it out since its dead already? At least eliminate it from the equation.
