Everyone suggests Spal and i know its usually bad to cheap out but for $35 its really hard to say no. Anyone have an experience with this one?

To reverse air flow you need to remove the fan and bolt it on backwards. You can not do that with this one even though they say you can. Other than that it wasn't a bad piece. I don't know about longevity. It was thrown in the trash when we found out it couldn't be reversed

Thanks man, glad I asked first. What fan did you end up going with?

I used these two as pullers, they are very thin and just fit between my S52 and my CX Racing aluminum radiator. Just about 2 years now and no problems.

DNA sold these at the time. they look like the same brand as the one you are looking at. I also used a Derale fan controller, works really well

Running an eBay fan on my NVM50 and it works great considering how much I paid for it. I'm the type of person that doesn't like to cheap out on necessary things but this cheap-out has worked flawlessly for the past ~8 months of hard driving I've done with the car.

Which did you use? You running it as a push or pull setup?

I use a Hayden fan I grabbed from a local O'Reilly Auto. It was $60 or so, in stock and has a lifetime warranty.

With our warp/crack happy heads, I would not risk a top end rebuild over an extra $60 for a quality fan.

I'm not trying to cheap out, that's why I asked about it first. But if it were a good setup it'd be silly to pass up a deal like that.

16" spal. After cheating out without success decided to just spend the money and get a real fan. Ended up costing more than it would have initially if I would have just bought a proper fan. Live and learn.

Thanks. I'll probably end up going with the spal then.

Sorry to continue this thread and steal it, but I am curious about a Spal puller fan that I saw on amazon. It is rated for around 1300 CFM. Is this something that would cool the radiator for light tracking, and daily driving duties? I honestly want to stay away from pushers because I don't like how they look. I know that is insane, but its just something id like to avoid if I can.

Just checking to see if anyone has this fan, or has used it on a S52. Thanks!

Spal all the way. I used an Ebay 16" and it doesn't flow the CFM's described whatsoever.

You'll be glad you bought a better fan in the long run.

Anyone tried one of these? I've heard meh things about spals.
