    suspension setup ?'s

    Who has a 318 with M50/S50 swap?

I just (finally) put mine on the ground. 318is with e30 m3 suspension, struts, trailing arms, brakes, blah blah blah...point is that something ain't right. I decided to try to reuse the H&R sports that came with my 318is just to drive the car for a while and figure out which springs I really want to run. The H&R sports are for a '91 318is, but here's the problem...with m3 strut mounts, Koni SA shocks, offset CA bushings, and brand new everything else I've got way too and i mean WAY too much negative camber.

Could the light duty H&R sports from a 318is be affected so much by the weight of the S50 motor that it is sitting lower thus causing more negative camber? I'll post a picture in a little while, but it's bad. I think somethings wrong in the front end, but I'm not sure what exactly...

    any ideas??

Uhhh yeah... That is easy to do and easy to fix.

      Swap the knuckles around.

I'll look at those again tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure I have those right. On the m3 i think they only go one way because they have little tabs on them that fit into the bottom of the strut.

Like I say, I'll check again, I might be retarded

I've got e30 M3 suspension and brakes on my swapped car but don't have nearly as much camber as your car, probably even if I dial my plates out to max neg setting. Make sure your suspension is properly installed. The front suspension does gain camber when lowered (until the arms are parallel w/ ground), but not nearly that much, for your ride height.

Projectz is probably right. You might have swapped the left knuckle for the right

Hey, we all make mistakes :p ! Couldda been way worse.
Just last nite,I put shocks on all 4 corners and 30 seconds into the test drive; I noticed the car felt odd, loose lugs DUH!! I turned back and tightened them.
