    ECU and no spark problem

Alright so here is my situation my car was running and driveable just needed to do some finishing touches. My friend needs to borrow my ecu so i let him, meanwhile i install my exhaust, in the process i jack the engine up a little to install it easier. I didnt touch any electricals at all and now i get the ECU back and no startup wtf! I check and i have fuel but NO SPARK! So i plug my scan tool and do a scan just in case and i get flashing "E" which basically means no communication with ECU. I tried another ECU which was a silver label so i was sketchy on it. Then i bought another 413 red label again same thing.

So recap i have no spark and my scan tool will not communicate with my ECU. Any Help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. - I have checked many electricals , coils are getting power and battery terminals are tight, Ecu is getting power.

when you jacked up the engine could it have torn the ground strap from its mounting point?

probably rule that out since he tried two differant ecu's.

let me guess. you followed one of the wiring diagrams on the internet. NONE of them are correct. grab a voltometer and the wiring diagrams. i have confidence that if anyone puts there mind to it, the problem will be solved ........ you will even find deffiencies (ommissions and mistakes) in the wiring diagrams. jason

No, the wiring is good. I drove the car around my lot 3 or 4 times. Then i put center pipes on while my friend borrowed my ecu. I got the ECU back then the damn thing doesnt start. So i found out it was my chip . Then i replaced my m3 chip with the stock 325i chip. Now it looks like i have intermittent spark but atleast i have spark. The problem is no power to the fuel pump so back to square one with checking over electricals.

Got power to the fuel pump just to find out the fuel pump is seized again. I believe i have some water in my gas tank time ,oh well , time to work the magic on the fuel pump.
