M50 stroker advice

    M50 stroker advice

    So ive completed building and running in my m50 stroker engine, and im losing momentum on my build mostly due to not knowing what to do next. The engine mods include
    - m54b30 rotating assembly
    - M20 chromolly lightweight flywheel
    - 6puk clutch
    - headers to 2.5" straight to 3" muffler

    So im thinking the next thing I think I should do is sort out the AFR?

    Does it run? If so then id say drive it and drive it untill you get problems. Then correct and repeat untill the engine is all sorted. Then worry about the proper tune.

      heard that you could get an S50 tune
      Pm HakenTT he could hook you up with a tune

        Do s50 cams, 24lb injectors and a 3.5 in intake a run a tune for an s50 with said mods.

          Ill have to get a cam grind to s50US spec intake cam and use the factory m50 intake on the exhaust side(correct?), in NZ we only get the euro s50. 24lbs = pink top injectors? Should I look at getting a larger fuel pump as well? Also mine is a PFL with the twin pump set up, do I need to upgrade both? Also being 3L do I need to worry about it leaning out with the increase in engine capacity?

            Call Turner motorsports or the racers market.

            Get a tune from the source not a copy pirate.

            Pair of usa s50b30 cams would be the most ideal option

              Please choose for the following option below in order for us to select the right chip for you. TRM has a tune for nearly every common set-up on the market. The most common will be available below. …


              S50 US cams would be a great addition. Not required though. Make specific notes on what you have.

                Copyright pirate? I forgot to mention it is non vanos. I think I am leaning towards cams. On the other hand I'm being advised on getting the MAPecu3. Anyone have any experience with it?

                  If you have come this far why not just add vanos?

                  The brain is much smarter

                  The power band is much better with the vanos

                    ^Agreed.

                    Vanos gives you a much nicer torque curve. The last M50 3.0l we built used a non vanos head and we added vanos to it.

                    24lb injectors are also overkill unless you are running Schrick / Sunbelt cams and a 3.5 MAF. Get a good rebuilt set of S52 21.5lb pink tops. They're more than enough for a 3.0l with S52 cams.

                    Wouldn't worry about the fuel pump setup unless you monitor pressure and see an issue.
