    ATE vs Girling Brake Boosters

Whats this rumor i hear about brake booster and master cylinder should be the same manufacturer to function properly.

For example if using an ATE brake master cylinder(BMC) then a ATE Brake Booster(BB) should be used, likewise a Girling BMC should be attached to a Girling BB.

Is the shaft designed differently in each BB or something?

      I don't think it's a rumor. I'm fairly sure it's documented somewhere, I just don't remember where?

I had tons of issues with an ATE MC and Girling booster.
The brakes would slowly lock up after about 4 miles. After about 20-30 seconds (not very long) of sitting, they would release and I could go 4 more miles.
The issue disappeared when I put in an ATE booster from the pick n pull.
