I want to know how you hooked up the rear of the engine to the hoist. Man i tell you am am not looking forward to trying to get the chain out of the cast block hole. I think i am going to add a long piece of steel bolted to the cast hole and have it come up to the top of head.

Before i do this i want to make sure i am not missing something.

Connect to the front bracket and the hold in the block like you are saying. Use a load lever with chains on both sides and bolts connecting them. It's not hard at all to take out.

Item 3 - long bolt down through the conveniently located access hole in the intake manifold, thread into the bracket and lift from there.

Alternatively you can use a clevis bolted through the cast eye on the block and lift from there.

that is awesome. here is what i came up with.

what it looks like on a spare engine. attached by the 6mm bolt to keep nit secure when not in use.
