506 chip in 413 DME

Hey guys, i have two DMEs both 413, one is EWS and other is non-EWS. But the non-EWS one has no chip in it.

My swap is the S50, and i am trying to figure out if a stock chip from 506 DME will work in one of my 413 DMEs

don't particularly feel like dumping $300 for a turner chip, when i can burn 506 chip for like $20

No, the chips are specific to the ECUs. Plus the 413 ECUs have EWS security which requires a special chip to disable it.

Well i took a stock M3 chip from a silver label 413 and it didnt work in my red label 413 so yeah , i dont think a 506 chip will work.

yours probably didn't work because of EWS in the chip

Alex,

Yes the 506 chip will work in your Non-EWS 413 DME (Red Label). 506 chips came in the early model M3s so they did not have the EWS system.

506 chip will work in 413 red or silver label.

Word. Turner sends you a chip for a 506 computer anyways, even if you order if for a 413.
