Heater Core Hose hook-ups

For some reason yesterday I started to second guess the way I hooked up the heater core hoses, can someone tell me which way is which?

The upper aluminum barb sticking out of the firewall goes to the barb on the cylinder head of the S50/M50?

The lower aluminum barb sticking out of the firewall goes to the spider hose on the s50/M50?

Like I said I started second guessing myself for various reasons, can someone please confirm? This is swapped into a 1991 318is
