    Thanks for chiming in, Chris. I wonder if the OEM E30 muffler hangers would work on a stromung or triflow, etc. (assuming the muffler was straight, not bent like some of them).

    1990m3 says he used them on an OEM E36 muffler (which is bent), so I imagine they would work better on a straight muffler. Thoughts?

      AJ, I used the later E28 535i green mounts. I wouldn't say it's as low as you can get the motor, but I like things where they are and I don't know how much lower I'd want it.

      The Rubber e30 muffler hangers are useable, albeit crappy, you just need to attach or weld custom metal brackets onto the muffler to hook onto the e30 hangers.

        I guess I was implying the entire muffler mounting kit, i.e. metal straps that strap the muffler in. I wonder how doable that would be.

          If you really wanted to use those ugly things, they would likely work just fine on some smaller aftermarket e36 m3 mufflers with a little bending of the straps.
