1215, Horrible Throttle Response UPDATE: No More Stalling, Other Symptoms Persist

I have a 1992 325i which I bought as a donor to 24v swap my e30. I bought it with no radiator. After installing one, I noticed that the throttle response was very lackluster. While attempting to troubleshoot, it died in my front yard. The CPS didn't ohm out properly. I replaced it, along with another DME due to some unusual fault code outputs. Now, I am getting a 1215, however, the CEL is not on. I can get it to turn on by unplugging the MAF (which does make it run worse,BTW). I tried driving it today (not on the road, around my yard. I bought it totaled due to a rear end collision) and was rewarded with extremely poor throttle response. It then stalled. I was able to restart it, but I could not move it as it stalled every time out I let out the clutch.

A 1215 seems to indicate a vacuum leak, from what I have read. I could be wrong, however. So, what should I look for? I can't drive it anywhere to get a smoke test run, so I don't think that is an option. Here is the real question: should I correct this before swapping the e30, or pull the motor anyway and replace all of the vacuum lines once the motor is pulled?

I can get a video up later today or tomorrow if it would help.

1215 on a vanos obd1 car is maf code. It may have set it just from you unplugging the maf while it was running. Anyway if your pulling the motor you can do a lot of refreshing while its out.

I knew 1215 was a MAF code, which is why I unplugged it to see if I saw a difference. BTW, this is a non-VANOS car. The problem here is that it is undriveable, and I can't bring myself to pull a motor which runs this bad and put it in mine.

You replace the ECU with another 402/403?

Yes, a 402. It solved the problem of incorrect fault code outputs.

Update: I pulled the intake, and found a large amount of bad vaccum lines/ICV lines. I replaced them all to find that it was better, but not by much (as in the car no longer stalls, but still runs rich). So, I drove it around my yard more while smelling sulfur and realizing the cats were glowing. After removing the exhaust, I still had the same problem.

BTW, I still have a 1215 with NO CEL. Where do I go from here? MAF?

Uh code says maf. Replace it and try again.

Im having a similar issue. I'm suspecting my maf sensor becuase I got it from a pull a part near me.

                  UPDATE: Solved.

I bought new coils since the others had hairline cracks. It was this, a failing in tank pump, and a vacuum leak.
