    Shifter plate problems

Has anyone run into this? Ill start by adding that my swap has successfully made the car run under its own steam. Ive test driven it around the block and to the local gas station and back with minor issues. Well all minor but one. My old shifter plate cannot be secured to the ZF tranny.(getrag 240 i think was the old one) I diddnt really even think about that until after I got the motor and tranny in. Now its all in and that plate is there to stay. Problem is, since the thing is unsecure, when I go to shift, the plate moves as I throw the shifter, and for the most part its fine, but sometimes the plate will move, pulling me out of gear and grinding it. And everytime it grinds, a piece of my soul is grinded with it, taking at least a year off my lifespan. So five years so far. Is there a fix for the old plate or do I have to get an E36 one?

whatever shifting assembly matches the gearbox you put into the car must also be installed.

shift carrier + selector rod from the e36.

Yep, no way around it, you need to put the correct one for the trans in there.
