    s50......still learning/improving

so after 3 yrs on the swap...Im still making everything perfect and reliable. I paid good money for the swap, but it was not rock solid perfect.....

Let me ask.......I just tonite noticed....just now:

I get more WOT when I manually open throttle linkage w/ my hand under hood. Compared to WOT w/ pedal use only, I get about 1/4 " more manually underhood

the gas pedal hits the oe interior stop before the point of WOT that I can achieve w/ my hand.

now is that normal?.... Tell me Ive been tracking the car w/ 85-90% of WOT...no wonder Im getting my ass kicked by Miatas, and AMC Gremlins...lol

Please tell me I just found some real ooomph....!!!

and how to correct this?...if so...Im a little pissed...yet excited.

The throttle cable should have a knurled knob to tighten the cable.

Correct, adjust your throttle cable. You want to take out enough slack that at full throttle you are at the end of pedal travel and not stretching the cable. Make sure when you get it where it needs to be the throttle still closes completely.

Keep it easy... Adjust the pedal stop to allow WOT without going over. Takes a wrench to loosen the jam nut, adjust, and tighten. Should take under 5 minutes, and won't effect your idle and force the throttle open when like changing cable slack can do if you go too far

          Varinn.....I like your style:

I was secretly thinking exactly this......seems appropriate and simple....hmmm.....w/ no complications as long as I dont go "overboard"

I tracked her today, and looked at 4 x e36 m3( which is my engine)...all had correct WOT via the gas pedal.

          I smell more top end....

            did some reading over weekend.....

seems like forking around w/ the oe pedal stop can cause issues w/ pedal action, linkage issues etc etc....it may not be the smartest way to solve my issues....but I must say it did seem like the best, easiest way...

I dont know what cable was used in the swap..perhaps its old, and stretched.....Ill fix it at the cable side....either adjust it out, or get a new cable.

its funny but I guess typical that so many say e34 cable , yet others say it did not work for them..then u hear m20 worked or e36 worked.....lol
