    Diff Swap

Quick question guys, I found a differential that I want to use from an E36 and was wondering how it mounts to the E30 Chassis. Is it just a simple rear cover swap or is there more to it? Ive been googleing and searching the forums but cant seem to find much info on the actual procedures. Feel free to point me to an old thread or sticky if ive missed it. Thanks.

E36 has a different case and won't work on a e30. E24, e28 and z3 diffs will work. The e24 and e28 diff rear covers will need to be swapped.

Got it. An E24 3.25 LSD. That should get me rollin a little better than the 3.64 that came with the car. Looking at just the numbers, that doesnt really seem like much of a difference. Without a working tack, just listening to the engine, it sounds like im doing around 3.5K to 4K RPM in 5th gear just to only go at the breaking speed of 55 MPH.
