    99' S52 Swap into 92' 325

Hi, I know this an e30 forum and all but I haven't found any more information on this. But I have a 1992 Non Vanos e36 with a m50 in it right now. I am pulling it out to put a S52b32 in out of a 99' M3. I am converting the engine to Obd1 and need some help. Since my car doesn't have vanos I have bought a 94' e36 obd1 vanos harness to swap it. But like the E30s my car only has one DME harness plug but the harness has two. I have always heard that this would be a plug and play affair but I don't think it is right because my harness has two driver side DMW plugs. Do I need to repin this harness to match the obd1 non vanos plug or what? Any help would be appreciated ill post some pictures of what I am talking about.

    Thanks!

I thought the diagnostic port was on the other side. Is it an auto or manual harness.

It is a manual harness! But yeah it's defenitly not the diag port, there is another circle connector on the other side of the harness so there is a total of three. I was looking at other e36s and it seems only the 1992 is like this. The 1993 and up has the 2 circle ports.

Strange. I have an e36/m50 vanos harness but it should be about the same.. I have 1 c101 connector, evap, and MAF. My diga port is on the other side though. My s50 harness was the same. Did you crack it open to see if it's a hack job?

That's really weird, but yeah I have it looked to be all original. I have heard before of having to re pin the c101 connector do you think that is what I need to do?
